Thanks for the geography lesson, River :-) I must admit to never having thought of Mexicans as North Americans. I do know about "Americans", though, because Brasilians say "God Bless America", too. However, I'm pretty certain that when USA American's say "God Bless America", they are referring to USA only (I just asked two, to be sure wink.gif )

The last time I looked Mexico was still part of North America.

CANADA, USA, and Mexico comprise "North America".

Anything else in between North America and Venezuela is considered
"Central America"

Venezuela and all points South is considered "South America"

FYI
America is not only USA as many people think.

(I have always been an American but I was not born in the USA.)

When they sing "God Bless America" I'm assuming that they are refering to the entire continent of America and not just USA.

Sometimes people even ask me if I'm an American Citizen. Go figure!

in footie terms
CONCACAF is an acronym for
Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football;
of which Mexico is a member of.
http://www.concacaf.net/

C.S.F. is "Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol" aka South American Soccer Confederation" (this topic) http://www.conmebol.com/

Of course you know what UEFA stands for ..and there are also 3 other confederations Africa, Asia and Oceana.

You can obtain a breakdown of all the countries that belong to a specific confederation at http://www.fifa.com/...ions/index.html

I'm not to up-to-date on these qualifiers. But, isn't Mexico in them, as they are in South America? Or is there some Central America thing, too?
